Wave 2 overview

The OCEAN study, funded by the Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing, comprises three ‘waves’ of data collection across four ‘streams’ of health professionals.

Wave 2 involves completion of a ‘Professional Profile’ customised to each of the health professional groups included in the OCEAN study – general practice nurses, nurse practitioners, physiotherapists and Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Health Workers and Health Practitioners. The Professional Profile asks each health professional to complete questions about their education, skills, experience and scope of practice. The Professional Profile should take about 10-20 minutes to complete.

General practice nurses, nurse practitioners and physiotherapists

can complete their Professional Profile now!
Each health professional who is identified by practices in Wave 1 and consents to being contacted by the study team will be asked to complete the Professional Profile. Alternatively, you can complete an expression of interest found here.

Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Health Workers and Health Practitioners

will be invited to take part later in 2026.

How long will it take to complete the Professional Profile?

The Professional Profile should take about 15 to 30 minutes to complete and can be completed on a computer, phone or tablet.

How can I take part?

A link to express your interest in taking part in the professional profile can be found here
